My history with Mustangs. I think I was 11 years old when I first started my interest in cars and for me Mustangs for some reason was the one I liked the most. My friend Jimbo and I found a play in Paramount “Mustang County”. It was a 4 mile bike ride for us. Don was the owner and opened up in 1972. He and his wife had just moved from Tennessee. He was super nice and never minded 11 year old kids dropping by to drool on his cars. I fell in love with the 66 Mustang fastback and the 69 Mustang Fastback, I think these were my 2 favorite body styles. Turns out that 6 years later I would buy my first car from Don, a 1968 Ford Mustang Coupe Wimbleton white with a black vinyl top. It was fully loaded deluxe with a 302 Engine.
2005 Ford would retro design the Mustang to look like the classic 65 fastback and I would go out and purchase one. This was also the start of others to build retro models and also bring back the 1960/1970’s American Muscle cars. This was something I thought I would never see after the mid 70’s smog cars.
If you love Mustangs, you love Shelby Mustangs and the Shelby Cobra. The Cobra was created by Carol Shebly to win races and he works with Ford to supply engines for the body he was using for this race car. Shelby and Ford would work close together for years. In 1965 Ford came out with the Mustang but it was not sporty or fast. It was a low budget car and they asked Shelby to take the car and make it win some races. GT350 was born. 2020 my wife and son would convince me to purchase a 2020 GT350, a dream of mine to own a Shelby Mustang.
These are the 3 Mustangs my son put up for the banner of this website. At this time the only car dream that I never had was to own or drive in a Cobra.
